I have a 3 ghz quad core with 8 gb of RAM and an Gefroce 670 GTX but I still want to play Wacraft I Mac...
When I do, animations and gameplay are slow like hell and scrolling is lightning fast...
Did someone successfully played this under SheepShaver (or any other Mac under Windows emulator)?
The Mac edition is slightly better than the DOS version (it was released 1+ years after the DOS version)...
I'm getting this too, and I've played newer games on SS fine.
Emulate it with the Old World Rom in place and use Mac OS 7.5.5. Also, install Quickdraw 3D (http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/quickdraw-3d) and QuickTime 4.1.2 (http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/quicktime-4).
in the sheepshaver GUI:
Check both boxes in the JIT Compiler tab
in the Memory/MISC tab set MacOS RAM Size to 1024 and again check both boxes.
Set the Graphics/Sound Tab:
Video Type: Window
Window Refresh Rate: 60Hz
Width: 1024
Height: 768
Check the QuickDraw Acceleration box.
Once installed, make sure to set the Preferred Memory Size for Quick Time Player, Picture Viewer, and the Warcraft app (usually clicking once then hitting AppleKey+I.... but for emulation on a PC it is LeftAlt+I) "Preferred Size" in the "Memory Requirements" box to "128000" without quotes.
